I thought I'd share an idea I've had rumbling about in my head for a while now:
I’ve got this itch to start a series of live conversations here on Substack, interviews that feel less like a PR junket and more like a raw, unfiltered chat between mates in a psychiatric breakroom. I want to create a space where I interview fellow writers about the messy intersection of creativity, mental health, and the spectacular insignificance of our own egos.
Think "Radical Self-Enquiry" meets "Accidental Comedy."
The question is this: who’s brave (or bewildered) enough to let me interview you?
Let's make a few things clear from the outset: as much as I'll be bringing a psychological/therapeutic slant to these shenanigans (for those of you that dont know, I’m a psychotherapist), what I won't be doing is 'therapising' anyone. Also, as much as I want to have a laugh with it and keep things lighthearted, the only person I'll be making a fool out of is myself.
If you’re a writer who values truth over followers, authenticity over adoration, and are willing to step away from the safety of the keyboard to let us see the actual human behind the prose, and you don’t mind having a good old-fashioned laugh along the way to lighten the heavy lifting of the human condition, please drop a comment or a "hell yes" below.
This invite is open to absolutely everyone, whether you’re already on my radar or we haven’t even virtually met yet. Let me know if you’d be up for being in the hot seat, or if you’d at least be up for watching the tragedy unfold from the sidelines.
May your coffee be strong and your self-delusion be weak,
Lee 🎤✨
