Mara hoffman closing and now just read The Vampire’s Wife is closing too.

Observation: Two brands helmed by women who very much embodied a certain aesthetic and femininity are closing down. And both were beloved by their customers. One of the reasons Mara Hoffman closed down was the difficulty she had to maintain sustainability standards. Because sustainability has a very high cost nobody really talks about. Then for Susie Cave’s The Vampire’s Wife is closing due to wholesale issues. Luxury retailers really are putting in danger smaller brands. I hope we don’t hear of other smaller brand closing down.

Shouldn’t be time for the industry to review its model?
