Just made a huge sports history discovery. 60 years ago yesterday the Philadelphia 76ers were down 2 games to 1 to the Boston Celtics and were losing game 4 in Philly 118 - 116 with 1 second remaining. A loss would mean almost certain extinction in the playoffs. The 76ers had the ball and one last attempt to tie the game. They got the ball into Hal Greer 35 feet from the basket. He took the shot and made it and sent the game to OT. Philly won in OT and tied the series at 2 games apiece.
This qualifies as one of the greatest shots in basketball history. And yet there is no video I can find of this. If anyone knows of video please let me know.
