The biblical phrase “heavenly hosts” has deep meaning. It invites a holy reversal. Scripture doesn’t only speak of heavenly hosts—angels arrayed above—but of heaven itself seeking hosts below. What if we are called to be hosts of heaven, welcoming God’s life, love, and reign into our homes, our tables, our ordinary spaces? What if you are a “heavenly host” yourself?
Heaven in the Bible is not merely a distant location beyond us; it is a living presence pressing toward us, a way of life breaking in among us. To practice hospitality, then, is not just to open our doors to others, but to host heaven itself—to make room for God’s reign to be done on earth as it is in heaven, one table, one meal, one welcome at a time.
Heaven is not only our future destination—it is God’s present invitation.
