A real woman doesn’t worry about not being good enough. A real woman doesn’t think she’s better than anyone else. A real woman knows she’s incredible because there are tons of incredible women out there. A real woman knows that there are tons of incredible men too.

A real woman doesn’t need to bring another woman down in order to make herself seem higher.

A real woman has enough courage to trust without feeling stupid when things don’t go her way. A real woman doesn’t blame herself when she’s in pain. A real woman doesn’t blame anyone else for it either. A real woman doesn’t take someone’s mistakes or shortcomings or limitations personally.

A real woman gets to decide for herself what kind of love she’s interested in exploring. Does she want to continue to explore a love that has always circled around dishonesty, selfishness, insecurity & fear? Maybe.

A real woman is curious. A real woman is okay with not knowing how to decide right now because a real woman can sit still. A real woman is allowed to pause and if a real woman misses her turn, then a real woman knows it was never her turn to begin with.

A real woman is allowed to want more, but a real woman never expects much.

A real woman sometimes feels jealous & threatened & scared to lose the thing she thinks she has but a real woman quickly remembers that no one ever belongs to anyone else. And even a real woman will admit that that fucking sucks.

A real woman knows she’s smart & stupid. Beautiful & ugly. Loud & quiet. Top & bottom. Boy & girl. Mom & dad. Good & bad. Because a real woman knows that everyone is also all of those things and more importantly a real woman doesn’t care if you disagree.

A real woman sometimes has to make the same mistakes over & over again, but that doesn’t mean she’s any less of a real woman. Because a real woman knows that over & over again doesn’t mean forever & ever.

A real woman is worth defending. A real woman is worth protecting. A real woman is someone to be proud of even when she feels ashamed. But a real woman doesn’t expect other people to do these things for her or feel this way about her.

Even though a real woman sometimes wishes they would.

Because

Real women are allowed to wish & believe in things that everyone else says are impossible. A real woman doesn’t allow another person’s limitations to influence her.

Even if they sometimes sneak in there anyway

A real woman gets over it & eventually forgets.
