π π΅βπ« Denver ATC Outage: Planes Left in the Dark (Really) Again?
Just weeks after Newarkβs scary radar/radio blackout, Denver International Airport faced its own air traffic control failure this Monday.
π§ Up to 20 aircraft lost communication while descending into Denver not one, not twoβ¦ all of them. Primary and backup frequencies failed. One pilot had to relay messages to others over the emergency channel. Yes, that actually happened.
π¨ββοΈ As a pilot, I can tell you: this is not great, this kind of failure is rare but not unheard of. Flying is still incredibly safe. However, after recent incidents, the media is (understandably) quick to amplify any disruption.
β οΈ What went wrong? π§ Why it matters more than you think π¬ Should passengers be concerned? Let me know your thoughts π¬
