My brother visited this weekend. We were taking a scenic path down from the hilltop before dinner when a kitchen table full of strangers spotted us through their window and started shouting at us 'Anda cá! Anda cá!' — come in, come in.

The front door opened, we were ushered into a house full of people we'd never met, vinho tinto, nice chat, a good selfie - 45 mins later we said goodbye to new friends and headed to the restaurant.

We both thought, how bloody lovely was that.
