Things taught in school: how to pass an exam, how to be somewhere by 08:30 every day, how to sit at a desk for hours, how to take your work home with you, how to not question authority

i.e. how to be a future dutiful worker cog in the machine.

Things not taught at school: how to mend and fix, how to invest, how to identify medicinal plants, how to start and run a business, how to grow food, how to build multiple income streams, how to think for yourself in a system designed to produce compliance

i.e. how to be autonomous and free.

Modern society runs on dependency and autonomous people are hard to control. The curriculum was designed around both of these facts.
