Tonight we watched ‘Sinners’ (2025). I didn’t expect the first half to basically be the Blues Brothers putting the band back together before it turns into From Dusk Till Dawn.

Overall I liked it. There a thing or two I would remove and it would make the movie better for me, but I appreciate the magnitude of the swing and how much it got right.

Some of the characters are simultaneously incredibly engaging and magnetic and entertaining and kind of caricatures at the same time. I don’t know which side will win out as the movie ages in my mind.

I think I need to think about it some more and maybe see it again someday to really form a complete opinion about it
