Here is the perfect distillation of mental health therapy, at least much of it. This is why I begin by telling patients that I’m always actively working my way out of a job and that goals should be achievable. Lifetime professional services isn’t a cure, it’s a reminder that we need people in our lives, it’s just that sometimes people pay to have them around.
There isn’t a service that is going to make you happy. The greatest freedom is found in recognizing that you’ll never be fully satisfied and laugh within the absurdity that this knowledge won’t stop us from going after it anyway.
