As I’ve started writing again, Jazz has really integrated itself into all parts of my life. Last night, I got invited to see the Spanish Harlem Orchestra and NY Philharmonic for a night of Latin Jazz all because I wrote about it on Substack.

Life has been lifing, but it’s always filled with surprises. And I welcome that 💕

If Jazz is for Grown Folks...

In a dark bar on the outskirts of Condesa, I’m on my third carajillo. Just when I think of calling it a night, a jazz rendition of MF DOOM’s “All Caps” plays across the sound system. I smile, take in the trumpets, close my eyes for a moment and remember how hearing the right song at the right time feels like a forehead kiss.
