In today’s episode of “We Told You So” 🤦🏾‍♂️

The Trump administration just did a massive, embarrassing reversal on AI policy and the irony is off the charts.

During President Biden’s term, he passed Executive Order 14110 that required AI companies to warn the government before releasing potentially dangerous AI models to the public.

And Trump revoked that EO on day 1 of his second term.

Up until now, Trump’s policy on AI was essentially: “Go nuts.”

Fast forward to a month ago when Anthropic created a model called Mythos that is reportedly so good at finding major security vulnerabilities in software that they refused to release it to the public in fear that bad actors would get a hold of it. And lo and behold… they did.

And NOW New York Times is reporting that the Trump administration is panicking and scrambling to write a new executive order that — get this — requires AI companies to disclose dangerous models to the government before public release.

Yeah.

This is what happens when irresponsible, immature former game show hosts take over the government and prioritize money over protecting the American people. It’s arrogant, it puts all of us at risk, and it was entirely preventable.
