The big one is being able to stream from a computer instead of only from the substack app on my phone! As you probably know, many writers (and for that matter, streamers) don’t like using their smartphones as much. And there are also many many reasons why it’s easier to have an external microphone, webcam, etc setup with a laptop than a phone.
In my call with Ozy(linch.substack.com/p/oz…), the livestream looked upside down from our end, and was 90 degrees off in the final recording (with no obvious way to adjust, rotating the phone maintains the wrong orientation, and changing settings/restarting didn’t help; other apps with camera also worked as expected). This is a quite annoying specific bug, but I guess if it’s on my laptop instead of phone it’d be easier to adjust/debug as well.
My experience with pretty much every previous substack live is that they pretty much all had some issue or another, though not as extreme as [was literally upside down/sideways].
