He has a lot of poems about Chicago. I think "Fog" is about Chicago too, but it could be anywhere.

Chicago is far from perfect. I know what is wonderful about it, yet, what is not is one of the things that has me retiring elsewhere.

The teacher also read Sandburg's poem about the fog coming in on "little cat feet". So unlikely a fusion and yet such an evocative image.
