April Poetry in the Field Challenge: Day 4

This cold spell hasn’t broken yet, but the wind dies down enough for me to sit on the steps. I’m back with George Herbert, who has a way of diving headlong into divine mysteries and finding the heart of things. His poems have the effect of making me feel seen, which can be both unsettling and comforting.
