We don’t really laugh appreciatively at those things anymore — now we scream at each other in TikTok and Instagram Reel comment threads about whether or not washing chicken makes black people less gross than white people and whether or not Lawry’s is necessary to use on every vegetable one consumes in order to make it palatable.
