The app for independent voices

Christmas is around the corner folks and if anyone’s looking for that last minute gift idea for the book lover then maybe I could humbly recommend The Shape of Guilt.

(Or not so humbly? Can you recommend your own book “humbly”?)

This is a book for those who like:

  • Literary fiction

  • Some even say “experimental fiction”

  • Others have said “page turner” (which surprised me)

  • Dark humour (it says so on the cover and I did not write that)

  • Unusual narrators (a toy bunny, and I did write him)

  • Poetic writing (that’s just the way it comes)

  • Magical realism

  • Stories that will turn you inside out and wring you out

  • Oh, and book club guide is available on the époque press website if you really want to go to town and make it your next book club read.

It’s available on Amazon, and Blackwell’s, and Waterstones, and Barnes and Noble, and online bookshops in many other countries (including Japan, which surprised me), in physical form and as e-book.

The Shape of Guilt comes with all the trigger warnings, so it’s not for fans of feelgood. (Unless you want to walk straight into the darkness to really enjoy your next feelgood read.)

Thank you to those of you who have already read it, for all my years on Instagram this never happened. The fact that we read each others books on here still amazes me.

Oh, and if you’re in the UK and want a signed copy, I have a handful on my shelf here beside me and could post tomorrow (Wednesday).
