A Scientific Link Between Eastern & Western Medicine
The New York Times Magazine just published a wonderful animated interactive essay about a scientific study providing evidence for a third kind of circulatory system- cardiovascular, lympathic, and interstitial. This essay describes the physiology of how Traditional Chinese Medicine has been treating the body as if it has a third circulatory system for 4,000 years, and yet Western anatomists have denied the existence of such a system. It's a great read and really well described in lay person's terms, if you're curious.
It can be so frustrating when medicines other than conventional Western medicine are poo pooed by modern science, only to discover centuries later that they were right. So if acupuncturists feel like saying "I told you so," we'd all understand.
