So I know this family that is basically a cult, and they’re really into “parents are the supreme authority and you may never disobey them ever, because disobedience even when you’re 50 is dishonor, and I lived this out just like the Bible commands because I gave my father refuge even after he molested my children. BTW pray for that child, because they disowned me, and if they don’t repent to me they will be cursed, because the Bible says they must remain under my authority”

When asked what they did to ensure their child felt safe after the molestation, they said, “it’s none of your business”.

And THIS is a huge reason why I’ve been drawn to the Catholic church. There are checks and bounds on fathers. A father can’t just make himself the Pope and expect blind obedience from their children forever, and the have a responsibility to protect their children. Honestly, if you’re raised in a home like that you only have two choices: feminism or Catholicism.
