Many American women struggle with feeling feminine. We are bombarded by manufactured beauty that conflicts the intuitive femininity. Current “trad” circles contribute to the perversion of femininity by making it something of a kink or treating women as the “undignified version of men”. The girl boss world and feminism sees women as mostly second class men.
This essay is a beautiful testimony of a woman learning what it truly means to be a woman. The solution isn’t aesthetics or ideology. It’s tuning into “spiritual motherhood”. She found her femininity when she started nourishing others. When she gave herself to her patients, she found herself “saved through childbearing” even though she hadn’t yet birthed a biological child.
