I spent the last 4 days in the company of the amazing Natalie Goldberg narrating her book Writing down the bones, 14 years after its original publication, commenting on things she had written, followed by an interview with her on how she evolved in her writing practice and as a writer in general. What an inspiring book. And it was so lovely to find this audio book that I purchased years ago but never got round to listening too—and listening to it on a very very old iPod mini, which is probably older than the Kindle —which I was just told by Amazon — has become obsolete.
It may be strange to say this, but I am kind of glad that I didn’t listen to this years ago when I bought it, as it feels like right now was the perfect time for me to hear the message of this book. Just shut up and write. This is how she sums it up in the interview at the end of the audio book.
I would love to hear from other writers here, who have found inspiration in this book, I know there are so many of you — please let me know if you are up for a conversation about this. I am truly curious about what this book had done for your as a writer.
