Ram Dass wasn’t asking people to stop growing. He was asking them to notice which direction they were growing in. Outward, toward more, better, different. Or inward, toward what’s already here. The inner reorganization he’s describing doesn’t look like progress. It looks like stillness. Like sitting with the discomfort instead of solving it. Like letting a feeling be there without immediately turning it into a plan. It looks, honestly, like doing less.
