The home for great culture

Hey MM crew! Here’s a question: do you ever have trouble thinking up fun new monsters, ghouls, and creatures of the night? Well, allow me to offer you a little bit of inspiration. Or should I say allow the human body to. I present to you: The Microglia! Okay, so I know this sounds weird but let me explain. The microglia is a cool little cell in the brain that performs a ton of important tasks, but most important to its horror factor: Phagocytosis. Phagocytosis is a really cool process by which certain cells break down bacteria, threats, and sometimes other cells to protect the body from illnesses. I know, this doesn’t sound especially scary, but let me ask you a question: What if you were the threat?

It’s not personal. It doesn’t feel good or bad. It doesn’t feel anything. You just happen to be somewhere you don’t belong and now it's going to absorb you inside of itself and break you down to your bare components, digesting you and reusing you to whatever purpose it may need you for next. Anyways, I’ve had this idea for years but haven’t had the inspiration to use it, so maybe use it if you find it fun/interesting!

The human body is a wondrous place. I’m just glad we have the microglia on our side…
