When our daughter was alive, but already quite sick, she got life-threatening diarrhea. She had been discharged from a top hospital with a slew of vitamins to give her through her feeding tube. But, it didn’t help. We found a pediatric GI somewhat far from our house that came highly recommended and took her to see him.
He admitted her inpatient. I had never heard of that hospital, we only went for an appointment, but then we were stuck there unexpectedly.
I was in law school at the time. And that was when I had a dream that I missed the bar exam. That our daughter had some sort of medical emergency so intense that we ended up somewhere we had never heard of and I forgot that I was supposed to take the bar exam, or was unable to get there.
When I try to figure out how I got where I am, I think back to stories like this.
And that’s why it’s a big deal that I passed. Because I was afraid that I wouldn’t get there at all.
We stayed at a hotel the night before to be close to the testing site and I called the hotel the hospital by mistake.
Crazy times.
