The app for independent voices

Glad to share it. I much (much) prefer Edwin McCain on vocals. It's a better fit. As for Popper, 1 million (or so) harmonica notes was apparently my limit. I hit that in about 1997. I always dug his singing and lyrics in Blues Traveler, but his schtick as Frogwings frontman didn't translate well at all for me.

Seeing Frogwings in May 1997 (a year before this) was life-changing. Derek Trucks Band opened. I'd seen Derek twice before (1993 and 1994/5), but this was the first time with dTb. BLEW. ME. AWAY.

Then Frogwings came out and played "Kickin' Bach"...that was IT for me. Terrific band. Groundbreaking in a lot of ways. (Assuming you've seen this post longlivetheabb.com/p/th….)

Thanks for sharing the Frogwings show. I had never heard them with McCain before (and always liked his sound). The songs w/ vocals are definitely a much different vibe, and you can only take so much lead harmonica solo...Croakin' at Toads was a pivotal album for me inspite of Popper. It was sort of my gaitway to the contemporary Allman Brothers of that time.
