Happy Ludlow Garage Day recorded April 4, 1970. I'm particularly fond of this set. It was what I listened to the most as I walked to/from Rose Hill Cemetery each day from the apartment I rented in downtown Macon as I finished writing 'Play All Night' I can sing pretty much every note of every tune here but the tracks that have always grabbed me the most are "Dreams" and "Mountain Jam" but treasures abound on these two discs.

Dickey Betts. "Ludlow was like a dungeon: a cement floor, with a low ceiling, kind of like a warehouse garage. Real funky. The Ludlow tape was recorded around the time of our first album, way before we started getting anywhere. We were still underground at that point. We had a private, almost cultlike following.”
