On Idlewild South, Tom Dowd captured a razor sharp band they way they sounded and played best—live. "Everything was cut live. There were at least five or six people playing simultaneously. And a full set up like a live show. The idea is that part of the thing of the Allman Brothers is the spontaneity—the elasticity.
