Identity politics and intersectionality explicitly came from Mao who was adapting Stalin’s “real equality” and “indigenisation”. Mao ran economic and cultural identity politics together against “Han chauvinism” (now shifted to “white supremacy”).  These ideas were then picked and adapted further by the Combahee River Collective and then Kimberle Crenshaw. Hence we end up with commissars (DEI officers), Lysenkoism (genderwoo in medicine), Zhdanovism (“entertainment” conforming to The Message) … , with cancel culture providing purges and anti-”disinformation” censorship apparatuses. The same root ideas lead to the same mechanisms of social control.
