I loved this writing tip from the very good copy newsletter ✉️ :

our brains actually think in images, not words.

it’s easier for your brain to decode a picture into words than it is to encode words into a picture.

the example he gave was when his dentist told him to floss everyday because the left over bits of food sitting in his mouth were like termites for his teeth.

one word, and a very powerful (kinda gross) image is created. no need for any confusing medical jargon. I think this lesson can be applied to most things.

if you can’t explain something simply, most times you don’t understand it enough.
