Leaving aside any ethical concerns about AI writing and just speaking purely subjectively, I find if I’m reading something and I start to think it’s AI I just lose interest and stop. Even when it’s some quite technical non-fiction where I’m really not reading for the author’s great prose or unique POV and just want to learn about something. I just go “oh right it’s AI” and it feels pointless to continue. Like I probably got whatever I was going to get from the title and the actual essay is just going to be padding to an arbitrary word count.
