‘Sex’ and ‘gender’ are, in fact, the same thing.
How we lost sight of this, on the basis of the deranged ramblings of a few fringe academics, is a mystery.
‘Gender’ replaced ‘sex’ on official forms, because it sounded more polite (and rather too many school boys just ticked the ‘sex’ box, and wrote “yes please”).
It is entirely possible – and normal – to reject sex stereotypes, or to be “gender-nonconforming” (which actually means nothing unless we accept that gender and sex are, in fact, the same thing – how can you conform, or otherwise, with something which is as nebulous as an ‘inner essence’?). That person still remains either male or female, however they dress or behave.
For someone to say that they ‘feel’ like the opposite sex is meaningless. To ‘believe’ that they are, is delusional. Which member of the opposite sex, when and where? How can we possibly feel like someone we are not, and whose experiences we have not shared? It would make as much sense as my saying that I feel like a soldier, or an Andean alpaca herder. Such utterances indicate imagination – or more often, not entirely wholesome fantasies – run riot.
That the powers-that-be, from local councils to supranational bodies, have been captured by these absurdities is indicative of the collective madness which has overtaken us all.
Tragically, children have been the collateral damage from the widespread acceptance of this insane ideology. We need to restore sanity, and soon.
