Today, I analyze from the inside the incentives of the key players in Brussels that explain the amazing (and often detrimental) productivity of the European institutions at generating legislation. Europe is a wonderful idea, the Single Market and the Euro are essential. But a lot more is being legislated and a lot of it is low quality, redundant, contradictory, or downright unnecessary.
