Disappointing to see Ridgeview go into administration, with reported losses of £1.5 million in 2023.

Back in 2023, I reached out to several English wineries about social media marketing and broader brand strategy because I could see the same issue repeating itself. I got to the final stages with a couple but the end decision was no. So many were playing it safe, producing predictable, cookie-cutter content that failed to capture attention or create any real connection with potential customers.

Fast forward to today, and not much has changed. You only have to scroll through the top 20 wineries and its all pretty drab.

I’m not saying content alone is the solution, but without a willingness to take calculated creative risks, many producers will continue to miss the chance to stand out in an increasingly challenging market.
