At exactly 3.33am, the full moon simultaneously broke through the moody dull and edged its way into the corner of my window. A curved slither of light that breathed a life of moody colour into the cloud-heavy sky. Jupiter, shining brightly as an accompaniment only a few hours previously, was nowhere to be seen.
Elfi had crawled into our bed and my arms half an hour before, and curled there breathing steadily and clutching every one of the four teddies she had brought through (she had originally gone to sleep in her own bed surrounded by four times as many; I sometimes have to excavate through stuffed toys to kiss her goodnight).
Happy New Year! January was a mess of all kinds of things, so I'm starting again. A new year and a new start. A full moon and a full heart.
