This has been one of patriarchy’s greatest tricks: the disappearing act of exceptional women. And while not every absence is the result of a deliberate choice, little by little, these absences pile up, producing a distorted, male-centred narrative of progress — and one that continues to dictate who gets seen, studied, remembered, and valued.
