unstained by evil, not given to extreme behavior, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, gentle, not greedy—these are a few of the qualities Paul considers essential in the man of God. Are these the qualities we look for in our leaders? Or do we instead find ourselves drawn in by charisma, the ‘cool factor’, or by teaching that strokes our self-esteem?
