“Dreams” was born in a season when everything was breaking and, somehow, still being recorded. During the Rumours sessions, everyone in Fleetwood Mac was going through a breakup. Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham with each other, John and Christine McVie with each other, Mick Fleetwood with his wife, Jenny Boyd. Lots of drugs, lots of tension, and yet they still managed to work together, with songwriting happening mostly in isolation, each person inside their own private universe.
