“Enter Sandman” was written by James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, and Kirk Hammett, and it is the song that more than any other opened Metallica up from the hard, almost closed world of thrash metal to massive global exposure. It is by far one of their most played songs on the radio, and it stood at the front line of their 1991 self titled album, the famous Black Album, their fifth record and by far their most successful.
