Beautiful writing. What stays with me most is the voice. It feels raw, specific, and completely lived in. You make the place feel real without overexplaining it, and that gives the whole piece a lot of power.

I also really like the way memory works here. It moves naturally, the way memory actually moves, one smell, one image, one small detail pulling everything back. And the ending is very strong. Quiet, sad, and somehow still defiant.
