In 2022 it became one of the main theme songs running through Baz Luhrmann’s biopic Elvis. The film uses versions by Austin Butler, by Presley himself, and by Paravi, a contemporary singer from Los Angeles. Luhrmann explained that the song also functions in the film as a commentary on Elvis’ relationship with the Colonel. In 2025, finally, “Suspicious Minds” was voted by BBC Radio 2 listeners as the ultimate Elvis song, with more than 100,000 votes, in a special broadcast for the 90th anniversary of his birth
