The recording of the song has its own adventure as well. Survivor recorded the first version in Chicago, in sessions that went incredibly well. They needed just two days to record and mix it. But when the time came to cut it again for the album, they did it at Rumbo Studios in Los Angeles and had a very hard time recapturing the feel of that first performance. After about a month, they finally found the sound they wanted, very close to the original. The first version is the one heard in Rocky III, because it had to be delivered for the film before they could finish the album version properly.
