The app for independent voices

Excellent piece with strong voice. “borders don’t make a man / n’ a flag don’t crown a soul” is the line that gives the whole piece its spine, and the move through Daniel 2:44, the Bhagavad Gita, the Tao Te Ching, and the Quran works because it never feels like showing off. It feels like one belief seen from several windows.

And the ending is clean in the best way. After all the talk of kingdoms, systems, maps, and thrones, bringing it back to “it’s People… / Humanity” gives it warmth instead of grandstanding. Grounded, wide-hearted, and spoken like someone who has actually watched a lot and chosen carefully what not to worship.
