The album cover was a reproduction of Eugène Delacroix’s famous painting Liberty Leading the People, which commemorates the French Revolution of 1830. That image tied itself directly to the revolutionary and beheaded universe of the song. The official music video, directed by Hype Williams, shows the band performing in front of a blurred background of that exact painting. So the track acquired from early on a visual link to the language of downfall, overturning, and popular uprising.
