Sometimes I wonder whether human beings are just a failed experiment by some far more advanced civilization somewhere out in the universe, and that would honestly explain a lot. It would explain the chaos, the stupidity, the wars, the apps, the politics, the general design flaws.

And it would also explain why they want absolutely no contact with us. Maybe they are not hiding. Maybe they are just standing very far away, looking down at Earth like disappointed scientists saying, no, leave that one alone, it still bites.
