Friend of soundtrack co-composer Trent Reznor, Tori Amos, once said in a lyric that “because you can make me come doesn’t make you Jesus.” That came to mind when I watched Leto play Ares in this movie – because they can make you a wig doesn’t make you Jesus, either. But I doubt it’s a coincidence that Leto pushed this project to the greenlight, and it therefore depicts him as the most perfect being alive.
