This was such an enlightening and well-written piece. I relate to the BookTok section especially, it’s so true how books are now pushed more for “spice levels” than for plot, themes, or actual storytelling. I’ve noticed how quickly recommendations turn into ratings of how shocking or sensational a book is, and it’s honestly changed how people approach reading.
