I am an old White lady and I have been convinced by Black writers like Mr. Weems that US capitalism is an exclusionary system of capturing and hoarding resources, not an expansive system of creation and circulation of them. In the United States this has historically meant excluding women, enslaved Black people (who actually were “property”), immigrants - particularly non-White immigrants, workers, indigenous people and the disabled, elderly and born-poor from owning and holding property, and from access to capital and wealth building. That jumping inside the closed circle of privileged White male wealth works only for a chosen few, just makes them exceptions that prove the rule of White male supremacy is American capitalism is White male supremacy.
