One thing I definitely didn’t expect from Tobira no Densetsu was its goblin population starting to throw me not-so-subtle vintage Gundam references, from Char Aznable to Zeon’s Tri-Stars.

I guess Denjirou Jr., Tobiden’s creator, is in the Japanese age group which could still see the charm in the very first 1979 Gundam series, which warms my heart given I rewatched it just a few months ago with my children. I look forward to see if there are Z Gundam references further along, too, even if the game’s tone is getting progressively more serious as I progress.
