Today, a group of Texans who were protesting ICE activities at the Prairieland Detention Center last year were convicted of charges of terrorism and given unusually harsh sentences ranging from 50 - 100 years in prison.
But what I really urge you to read is this statement from one of the defendants, Benjamin Song, who was sentenced to 100 years in prison.
It’s a clarion call about extraordinary abuses of power, about the fascist regime we’re living under:

First, that we should help each other.
Second, that we should protect one another.
What we all saw happen to Renee Good and Alex Pretti is my worst nightmare. I never want to see anyone get hurt. I never want to see good people, standing for what they believe in, gunned down in the street…
