Product managers should have super proactive roles in the go-to-market process. I gave a keynote speech at Product Management Day in Bologna ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น to 200+ Product Leaders yesterday. We covered the fundamentals of how to bring AI products to market.

Right now, 70% of my portfolio are AI-first companies, and these are the best practices I see across my clients:

1. Successful AI products have clear value propositions and refined use cases.

2. They do not overthink how to get users. They lead with solid case studies and customer education.

3. Strong onboarding for the win. It is essential to empower clients to experience the product's added value with a free trial, sandbox or demo workshop.

4. They are not afraid to introduce a paywall early on. AI models have actual usage costs. And a company can only lose money for a finite amount of time.

I will share a couple more lessons in the comments, but for now, I just want to say big thanks to the organizers Raffaele Colace, Mirko Maiorano, Anna Lisa Di Vincenzo, Ileana Baldassi, Giulia Tosato, and everyone at 20tab for the opportunity to meet the Italian product community.

In the session, I shared my framework Go-to-Market Power Hour. Out of 200 people, 135 downloaded the template - that is more than half of the conference hall.

We need more GTM-empowered Product Leaders in business.

The change is real.
